Michigan Birds of Prey

Survival at its finest.  Three engaging birds of prey like a hawk, owl, eagle, or falcon will visit your site to reveal their remarkable survival adaptations and behaviors. Visitors will have the opportunity to feel feathers, and explore skulls, and other bird parts like feet and bones. Programs are planned and presented with the age and experience of the audience in mind.

GLCES: Standards met vary by grade level.  Key Concepts: Habitats, adaptations, life cycles, conservation, and food web. Available all year.

Night Owl

Everyone loves owls! But how often do you get a chance to study one in the wild? Their nocturnal habits and camouflage coloring make them impossible to see. Now is your chance to get your eyes on owls. Three will visit, connect, enchant, and educate participants during an up-close visit. Classification, conservation, and survival techniques are just a few of the topics we will explore by observing live birds.

Flight Adaptations

Avian Flight Adaptations

Flight, while it appears a miracle, has some simple science behind the action. Observe the adaptations of three natural hunters. Watch a red-tailed hawk fly cross your field, gym or auditorium and see adaptations in play. We will focus on physical structures, feather types and wing shapes that allow these raptors survive in the wild.

Grade levels available: 4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11/12 community groups GLCES: Standards met vary by grade level

Key Concepts: Habitats, adaptations, life cycles, conservation, food webs, flight

She has participated in sport pep rallies, veteran and military events, schools, scouts and is a regular flying participant at the Eastern Michigan University football games.
